Looking like she could be pulling "The Dominion", 2816's steam creates a time warp in the cold winter air at CP's Ogden campus. Although the track is a yard lead and not the main line, the date could easily be 1940 instead of 2020 as the proud Hudson struts her stuff during testing for the "Holiday Train at Home".

Her headlight cutting a radiant beam through clouds of her own steam, CP moves under her own power for the first time since 2013. In preparation for her part in CP's "Holiday Train at Home" program, the locomotive was tested for a few days beforehand to ensure that there would be no issues arising from her long period in storage. In a testament to the quality of her design and the work done by CP's steam crew in preserving her, there were no issues whatsoever and the locomotive operated flawlessly.

Decorated with festive Christmas lights, 2816 shines within CP's brightly-lit Ogden campus in Calgary during filming of the "Holiday Train at Home". The tower's of Calgary's downtown core gleam in the background as the 90 year-old Hudson simmers quietly waiting for her turn in front of the camera.

For the first time in seven years, 2816's firebox has a flame in it, and hot water in the boiler. In an unexpected twist to the end of 2020, the locomotive made a surprise return to steam as part of CP's "Holiday Train at Home" virtual concert.
